INTRODUCTION:
Several backgrounds will be presented and introduced to the fundamentals of tribology of gears, gearboxes, bearings, and lubricants in this course. The training will equip learners with the skills necessary to correctly service, examine, choose, maintain, and repair a variety of industrial gearboxes.
How are bearings lubricated? Every maintenance engineer faces considerable challenges from bearings. Participants will gain a solid scientific and practical understanding of various equipment’s lubricating systems. The operating concept of bearings, kinds, applications for each type, and maintenance of bearings will all be heavily stressed in this Bearing Lubrication and Vibration Analysis course.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this Bearing Lubrication and Vibration Analysis course successfully, participants will be able to:
- Identify and recognise different bearing components including plain bearing, ball or roller bearings, cage assembly and others
- Classification, categorisation and the components of each type (design of each type)
- Identify shaft and housing fits of bearings
- Conduct and manage failure analysis, condition monitoring and proper handling to preserve bearing life
- Demonstrate proper precision alignment, mounting and dismounting procedures
- Estimate bearing life and find the causes of immediate bearing failures
Organisational Benefits
Companies who send their engineers to partake in this course can benefit in the following ways:
- Estimate the progress and improvement in bearing materials and designs
- Enumerate different bearing types and their applications
- Perform bearing installation and inspect bearing lubrications
- Analyse the lead, speed, life and tolerance of bearings and evaluate the reasons for bearing failure and failures caused by internal radial clearance
 Personal Benefits
The participants of this course can benefit in knowing the following:
- Bearing failure – symptoms of failure and the reason of each failure
- Gear box: Function, components
- Different and distinctive types of gear boxes, and different designs of gears
- Failure, symptoms and analysis of failure in Gear box
- Gear backlash and teeth contact checks
- Lubrication: Function, selection, systems and failure analyses
